Julian's Suggestion

One of the more underrated, undiscovered, and unrecognized song to this day. Camp Lo and their "Coolie High" along with didn't receive the recognition that they deserved. With one of the hottest beats that emerged in the 90's, Sonny Cheeba and Geechi Suede emerged in the game with what was a hit. From New York and both of Muslim decent, didn't deserve the credit for this song that they deserved. Enjoy

Julian's Suggestion

Although the album has received mixed reviews, The Ecstatic my Mos Def ultimately gave us this great, mellow song.
Along with Slick Rick Mos Def gives us a feel that resembles his days with Blackstar. Enjoy

Searching - 5 Elementz

Henry's post of Searching by Cl Smooth reminded me of this great track of the same name. Beat by Dilla, and (not surprisingly) it's amazing.

Essentials, Volume 3

For the third volume of Essentials, I want to share The Main Ingredient by Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth. This album is full of smooth beats with nice sampling. I am not an expert on Pete Rock or C.L. Smooth, but both emcees have nice and consistent flows throughout the album. My favorite two songs are "Searching" and "The Main Ingredient." Other good songs are "All the Places" and "Carmel City." I would definitely recommending copping this album one way or another, a relaxing collection to listen to.

Freestyle Fellowship--When the Sun Took a Day Off and the Moon Stood Still

Although the title may not be the best, this song has got a nice beat with some nice flows from the Freestyle Fellowship. I am not to familiar with the group, but this song is definitely a good one to bump.

Westside Connection--Do You Like Criminals

Here is a track from Westside Connection that has a classic West Coast G-Funk synthesizer beat. A nice one from the Bow Down album to bump your head to, enjoy.

Julian's Suggestion

"Above The Clouds."
"Above the clouds, above the crowds, where the sounds are original, infinite skills create miracles."
In a way this is Gangstar's gift to the original OG's. Enjoy

2 Tracks from Black Star

Two amazing must-have tracks from Mos Def and Talib Kweli aka Black Star. Both songs are off the album "Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star," and both are beautifully crafted songs where both emcees have smooth and meaningful flows.
